Pretty as a princess

With the acquisition of dress-up clothes at Christmas and the ever famous Snow White costume from Halloween, Kate has several options of which princess she can be each day. Although we usually select Snow White, occasionally Cinderella wins out. The other day, Kate actually roped Lauren into dressing up as well, and the two "danced" around the room in their own special way. As Kate puts it, she likes to dance the "ballet."

Our new favorite trail

As mentioned in a previous post, we ventured out once again for a walk along the American Tobacco Trail last weekend, this time bringing the McKennas. We enjoyed the beautiful temperatures and scenery as we walked through the woods. We saw 3 horses during our trek as well. It was agreed by all, that this was an outing to be repeated in the future.

A little light reading

With the start of a new year, Lauren is making leaps and bounds in her development! She's actually reading literature she finds lying around the house! Okay...so maybe she's just interested in the pictures. Needless-to-say, she swiped this magazine off the table and began looking at it on her own. At least she's up-to-date on the latest happenings in Apex.

A Spring Day?

With the temperatures close to 70 degrees (we are in December, right?!), we decided to take a family walk along the American Tobacco Trail not far from our house. Kate enjoyed the wide open space to run while Lauren sat back, relaxed, and strolled along in her "vehicle." Here are some shots from our family outing.

What happens...

There is a Santa Claus...and an aunt and uncle!

First off...Merry Christmas!!! We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to a Happy New Year! Best wishes to all in 2008!

Now back to my post!

We asked Kate several weeks ago what she wanted for Christmas. She replied that she wanted Santa to bring her a Snow White doll and princess dress-up clothes. Fairly simple list with few items.

As you can see, Santa came through and left a Snow White doll under the tree! As for the dress-up clothes, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Kim and Kate's cousins took care of that request. Looks like we have two princesses in the family!

Thanksgiving Highlights

As mentioned in my previous post, we traveled to Roanoke for Thanksgiving to spend time with family. Here are a few photos highlighting our wonderful time in the mountains.
