Batter Up!

In a previous post, you observed my artistic influence over Kate, trying to create an artist to follow in her mother's footsteps. However, her father is right behind me! Mark is preparing Kate for the sport of baseball, already enrolling her in batting practice and working on her stance. As many of you know, one of Kate's favorite pasttimes is running. I often refer to her as "Forest Gump"..."Run, Forest, Run!" The girl can run for hours and not get tired! So, during one of our outings to a nearby park, Mark showed Kate how to run the bases on an actual baseball field. On her first try, she proudly ran all the bases by herself! She's a natural!

Feeling Free!

Kate wanted to feel somewhat "free" the other day as she danced around the house singing her favorite songs..."Jingle Bells," "The ABC Song," and "Wheels on the Bus." She informed me that she wanted to leave her pajama bottoms off after her diaper change, however, her top was to remain on. At least she is somewhat modest!

What a Bundle!

We got Lauren bundled up this past Thursday (the day it snowed) and ventured out to a nearby coffee shop to listen to the "lady with the guitar" (as Kate refers to her) with my friend, Kristen, and her daughter, Ashlyn. Lauren enjoyed the music so much that she slept through the whole 30 minute show in my arms. Must be the music is very soothing!

As you can see from the picture, she is growing quite well. We took her to her two month appoinment yesterday and she is weighing in at 13 pounds 5 ounces and is 23 1/2 inches long. In other words...a big, healthy girl! As long as she is content, we don't care how big she is...besides, it's just more to love! She also had to get 4 shots at her appointment which knocked her out for the night. She went to bed around 8 last night, and Mark and I were shocked when we awoke around 5:30 this morning and hadn't heard from her all night. If only that would happen every night!

Lauren in a nutshell

Lauren is still our quiet and content child, unlike her active and talkative sister, Kate. But then again, she is only two months old. As you can see, she enjoys eating, hanging out, and observing the many interesting objects and sounds in the world around her. That's the life!

The Verdict is Still Out

Kate has already begun to develop her artistic skills, taking after her mom. The verdict is still out, however...will she be a sculptor or a painter? Your guess is as good as mine!

Feeling the need to conform

With the start of 2007, I felt the need to take advantage of the latest technology and jump on the "blog-wagon." (Not to mention the guilt and pressure of being the only Har-Har Laugh-a-Day player without a blog for my children.) Plus, we figured the grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles, etc. would enjoy watching our girls grow...and they are growing up fast!

So to begin, I thought I would show you how well Kate and Lauren are adapting to each other as sisters. Enjoy!
